Terence graduated with a Diploma in Dance (Choreography) from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts before furthering his studies at the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase New York, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to work with notable local and international choreographers such as Jeffrey Tan, Ryan Tan, Zaki Ahmad, Dr. Filomar Tariao, Wu Chien-Wei, Kim Jae Duk, James Cousins, Wallie Wolfgruber, Larry Clark, MADboots dance co., Stuart Loungway and Azsure Barton.
Having gone through a rigorous conservatory-styled training in both classical ballet and contemporary, Terence is able to adopt a holistic approach to his teaching methods. This has allowed him to successfully help students with their audition preparations, as well as coach classical and contemporary soloists and groups that have attain reputable placings at various local and international competitions.
Terence has an extensive teaching experience which includes being invited to conduct class for The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts’s audition in Singapore, in 2018 and 2019, and teaching company class for the dancers at Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre since January 2021. To enhance his credentials as a teacher, Terence completed his Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies in November 2021 and is now a Registered RAD Teacher.
Terence believes in the idea of “not practising till you get it right, but practising till you never get it wrong”.
